I-89 Colchester-Swanton

The Vermont Agency of Transportation in conjunction with The Gorman Group, LLC. will begin the repaving of I-89 northbound and southbound lanes between Exit 16 in Colchester & Exit 21 in Swanton along with the on/off Exit ramps throughout. The expected completion date is September 29, 2017.

The following is the anticipated schedule for the week beginning Sunday, July 16, 2017:

Sunday thru Thursday – 6pm to 6am:

  • Milling to begin in the northbound lanes from just north of Exit 16 proceeding north to the new Lamoille River Bridge.

 Monday thru Friday – Daytime:

  • Weather permitting, continued bridge joint work in both the northbound and southbound lanes from the new Lamoille River Bridge to Exit 19.
  • Weather permitting, pavement markings/line striping from the new Lamoille River Bridge to Exit 19

One lane of travel will be maintained within the construction zone.  Motorists should plan for minimal delays.


The following is the anticipated schedule for the week beginning July 23, 2017:

Sunday thru Thursday:

  • Milling continues in the high speed (left lanes) both northbound and southbound  lanes from approximately Exit 16 proceeding north to the new Lamoille River Bridge.

One lane of travel will be maintained within the construction zone.  Motorists should plan for minimal delays.
