ROCKINGHAM, VT BRIDGES I-91

rockinghamThe Vermont Agency of Transportation in conjunction with the design/build team of Reed & Reed, Inc. will complete bridge replacement on the I-91 bridges #24S & 24N over the Williams River in Rockingham, VT. This project has an anticipated completion date of June 15, 2020.

I-91 NORTHBOUND & SOUTHBOUND ARE REDUCED TO ONE LANE WITHIN THE CONSTRUCTION ZONE.


I-91 NORTHBOUND MOTORISTS SHOULD BE AWARE OF MERGING RAMP TRAFFIC ENTERING THE ROADWAY! 

PLEASE USE CAUTION!

Below is the anticipated construction activities for the week beginning November 13, 2017:

 I-91 activities:

Monday thru Friday – Daytime:

  • Begin disassembling Span 1 mid-support tower
  • Prep Pier 1 for demolition
  • Complete removal of span 1 truss

 

Golden Hill Road activities:

Monday thru Friday – Daytime:

  • Cut up Span 1 truss for recycling
  • Complete Pier 2 cofferdam and continue excavation
  • Begin pre-excavation of Pier 3 cofferdam

 


Below is the anticipated construction activities for the week beginning November 20, 2017:

MOTORISTS PLEASE USE CAUTION WHEN TRAVELING THRU THE CONSTRUCTION ZONE AS THERE MAY BE DELAYS DUE TO THE HIGH VOLUME OF TRAFFIC DURING THE THANKSGIVING DAY HOLIDAY WEEKEND.

 I-91 activities:

Monday thru Friday – Daytime:

  • Complete removal of Span 1 mid-support tower
  • Relocate crane to the west side of the southbound bridge.
  • Prep Pier 1 for demolition.
  • SLOW MOVING TRAFFIC BOTH NB & SB EXPECTED DUE TO THE HIGH VOLUME OF MOTORISTS ON THE ROAD FOR THE THANKSGIVING DAY HOLIDAY TRAVEL.

 Golden Hill Road activities:

Monday thru Friday – Daytime:

  • Complete Pier 2 cofferdam and continue excavation
  • Continue assembly of pier forms

 


The posted speed limit within the construction zone will be reduced to 55mph and will be strictly enforced.

We ask motorists to use extreme caution as the safety of the workers along with themselves is of the utmost importance.
