The anticipated work schedule is as follows:

  • Excavating sections of the roadway from the Essex /Jericho Town line working westbound to Tiffany Lane.
  • Begin removing unsuitable material and backfilling with new material to proper grade between VT 289 and Tiffany Lane.

  •  Continued preparation work on the set girders to include concrete pours in anticipation of pouring the new bridge decking.

The following is an update to the work schedule for the week beginning Monday, August 06, 2018:

Monday thru Friday:

  • Continued culvert work between Airport Road & VT Route 125 in E. Middlebury – Traffic will be 1 lane thru this area controlled by a traffic signal.
  • Relocation and/or replacement of various mailboxes throughout the project due to the widening of the roadway – homeowners have been directly notified of this work

Wednesday:

  • Asphalt curb installation on “Stoney Hill” between So. Airport Road & Lovers Lane.

Motorists should expect delays as traffic control will be present allowing for one lane of alternating traffic within the construction areas.

  • Reclaiming continues between VT 289 and Tiffany Lane in the westbound lane.
  • Slope stabilization work between Skunk Hollow Road and Barber Farm Road in Jericho.
  • Drainage enhancement work continues from No. Williston Road to Essex/Jericho Town line.

Weather permitting, Bridge #8 will be opened to thru traffic tomorrow, July 27, 2018.

  •  Miscellaneous clean-up work.

 

Traffic control will be present during the daytime hours allowing for one-lane of alternating traffic over the bridge site.

The bridge was opened to traffic on/before the anticipated schedule!

• Continue reclaiming the roadway from Sand Hill Road proceeding west to Tiffany Lane.
• Continue underdrain work from the Essex/Jericho Town line proceeding east.
• Shoulder/slope stabilization from the Essex/Jericho Town line proceeding east.
• Culvert replacement between N. Williston Road and the Essex/Jericho Town line.
• ROADWAY MAINTENANCE THROUGHOUT THE PROJECT!

Motorists please be aware:
 There will not be a center line from the Essex/Jericho Town line to Tiffany Lane.
 Rough roadway surface.
