ESSEX, JERICHO-RICHMOND VT ROUTE 117
The Vermont Agency of Transportation along with Pike Industries Inc. will begin this 2018 – 2019 roadway rehabilitation project of VT Route 117 beginning in Essex where the State Highway begin to the intersection Route 2 in Richmond the week beginning June 18, 2018. The anticipated completion date is October 11, 2019.
This project will consist of rehabilitation of the existing roadway sub-base, new traveling surface with shoulder widening (where feasible), drainage, guardrail and signage upgrades, new signal at the intersection of 289 off ramp and VT 117 along with other incidental items throughout the project.
During the construction period, motorists should expect traffic flow to be maintained at all times with one-way alternating traffic during construction hours with control present.
Motorists should also expect to be traveling on a gravel surface from approximately mid-July 2018 through August 2018.from Essex where the State Highway begins to the Jericho town line.

- Weather permitting & tentatively, continued installation of cold mix from the Essex/Jericho town line proceeding west to Tiffany Lane.
Monday thru Friday:
- Weather permitting, continued installation of cold mix from the Essex/Jericho town line proceeding west to Tiffany Lane.
- Underdrain and slope stabilization work continues between Barber Farm Road and the US Route 2 intersection.
MOTORISTS PLEASE USE CAUTION WHILE TRAVELING THRU THE WORK ZONE AND DRIVE SLOW!
Commuting motorists should seek alternate routes. Expect delays during peak hours!
The work schedule for Friday, September 07, 2018 is as follows:
- Continued underdrain and slope stabilization work between Barber Farm Road and the Jericho/Richmond town line.
- Shoulder cleanup between VT-289 and Tiffany Lane.
Traffic control is present allowing for one lane of alternating travel.

The anticipated work schedule for Thursday, September 06, 2018 is as follows:
- Continued structure adjustments to existing road grade between Valley View Road and Tiffany Lane.
- Underdrain work will also continue between Barber Farm Road and the Jericho/Richmond town line.
- Continued shoulder work between Valley View Road and Tiffany Lane.
- Complete the slope stabilization work across from Skunk Hollow Road.
Traffic control is present allowing for one lane of alternating travel.

The anticipated work schedule for Wednesday, September 05, 2018 is as follows:
- Structure adjustments to existing road grade between VT-289 and Tiffany Lane.
- Underdrain work will also continue between Barber Farm Road and the Jericho/Richmond town line.
- Shoulder work between VT-289 and Tiffany Lane.
- If time allows, slope stabilization work across from Skunk Hollow Road.
Traffic control is present allowing for one lane of alternating travel.

Monday: No work – Happy Labor Day.
Tuesday thru Friday:
- Continued installation of cold mix from No. Williston Road proceeding west to Tiffany Lane.
- Underdrain work continues between Barber Farm Road and the US Route 2 intersection.

- Continued Installation of cold mix beginning at the Essex/Jericho town line proceeding westbound. Hope to match up with today’s work by 3:00 pm tomorrow and include a painted center line.
- Underdrain work will also continue between Barber Farm Road and the Jericho/Richmond town line – will be off the road with this operation by noon.
- Road maintenance throughout the weekend, as needed.

- Installation of cold mix beginning at the Essex/Jericho town line proceeding westbound. This didn’t happen today, so we will try for tomorrow – barring any unforeseen circumstances.
- Continued underdrain work will also continue between Barber Farm Road and the Jericho/Richmond town line.
- Installation of cold mix beginning at the Essex/Jericho town line proceeding westbound.
- Continued underdrain work will also continue between Skunk Barber Farm Road and the Jericho/Richmond town line.
The anticipated work schedule is as follows:
- Patching the culvert cuts on both sides of Barber Farm road with pavement (one approx. 500’ west of Barber Farm Road, the other approx. 1500’ east of Barber Farm Road).
- Continued underdrain work will also continue between Skunk Hollow Road and Barber Farm Road.
Traffic control is present allowing for one lane of alternating travel.
