The anticipated work schedule on VT 117 for April 23, 2019

  • Continue signal work at the VT 289 / 117 intersection.
  • Guardrail work to continue throughout the project.
  • Cleanup work between Rogers Lane and Bradley Bow Road.
  • Continued cold planing (grinding) between Barber Farm Road and Skunk Hollow Road.

Monday thru Wednesday:
• Continued grinding the existing pavement from Barber Farm Road to the Essex/Jericho town line.

Tuesday thru Friday:
• Signal work at the intersection of VT 289 and VT Route 117.
• Continue drainage improvements between the Essex/Jericho town line and Skunk Hollow Road.
• Shoulder cleanup between the intersection of VT Route 117 & US Route 2 and the Essex/Jericho town line.
• Guardrail work throughout the project limits.

Traffic control will be present allowing for one-lane of alternating travel within the construction zones. Motorist should expect delays and use caution.

  • 7:00 a.m. Continued drainage & slope improvements from Barber Farm Road to the Essex/Jericho town line.
  • 7:00 a.m. Guardrail work between VT Route 2/117 intersection and Rogers lane.
  • 8:30 a.m. Continued grinding milling between Rogers Lane and Bradley Bow Road.

Motorists should expect delays!

This project to begin the final completion.

The following is an update to the work schedule for the week beginning April 22, 2019:

Monday thru Wednesday:

  • No work scheduled

Thursday & Friday:

  • Grinding of the existing pavement in Bristol at the VT-116/VT-17/Burpee Road intersection along with the surrounding area of Airport Road in preparation of final paving.

Motorists should expect delays with traffic control present allowing for 1-lane of alternating traffic within the construction zone.

Rockingham Bridges I-91

The following is the anticipated work schedule on the I-91 bridges for the week beginning Monday, April 22, 2019:

Monday thru Friday:

  • I-91 Exit 6 northbound On-Ramp remains closed for the week during ramp reconstruction to its original grade.  All motorists to follow the signed detoured on Route 5 north to the Exit 7 northbound On-Ramp.  The ramp is anticipated to be opened up on April 26, 2019 at which time all traffic will be switched over to the new I-91 Northbound Bridge.
  • Weather permitting, paving the NB Bridge approaches
  • Guardrail installation on the NB Bridge approaches
  • Pavement markings on the NB Bridge and approaches
  • Installation of new NB traffic control devices
  • Work continues on Pier #3 to include placement of 2nd shaft
  • Continue to excavate and remove ledge at Pier #2 SB cofferdam

Friday – April 26, 2019:

  • Weather permitting, there will be a northbound rolling road block as motorists are directed over the newly constructed northbound bridge.  Motorists can anticipate approximately a 10-minute delay in their travels.  The start of the road block will be listed in next week’s release.

I-91 NORTHBOUND & SOUTHBOUND IS REDUCED TO ONE LANE WITH NO SHOULDERS WITHIN THE CONSTRUCTION ZONE. 

I-91 NORTHBOUND MOTORISTS SHOULD BE AWARE OF MERGING RAMP TRAFFIC ENTERING THE ROADWAY!

• Grinding the existing pavement from the intersection of VT Route 117 & US Route 2 to the Essex/Jericho town line.
• Continue drainage improvements between the Essex/Jericho town line and Skunk Hollow Road.
• Continue slope repairs between the Essex/Jericho town line and the intersection of VT Route 117 & US Route 2.

Tuesday thru Friday:
• Signal work at the intersection of VT 289 and VT Route 117.

Wednesday thru Friday:
• Installation of barrier between the Essex/Jericho town line and the intersection of VT Route 117 & US Route 2.

Thursday & Friday:
• Roadway excavation between Barber Farm Road and Bradley Bow Road.
